A Robotic Welding Fixtures Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing welding fixtures, jigs, and tooling used in automated robotic welding systems. The role involves creating 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and ensuring fixture designs meet quality, productivity, safety, and cost requirements. Key Responsibilities Design robotic welding fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling using CAD software. Develop 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings. Analyze welding processes and fixture requirements to ensure dimensional accuracy. Collaborate with robotics engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams. Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T application. Select appropriate clamping, locating, and support mechanisms. Review customer specifications and convert them into fixture designs. Support fixture assembly, tryout, and commissioning activities. Resolve design issues during manufacturing and installation. Optimize fixture designs for cycle time, accessibility, and maintenance.
